Escorca & Santuari de Lluc

The main attraction in Escorca is Santuari de Lluc; a popular sanctuary in Majorca that was dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The significance of this small community of believers is inflated by the presence of Blauets Choir that was established in the 16th century and made up of 40 boys and girls. The choir ministers on Sundays but Easter and Christmas performances are special occasions for both locals and visitors from around the world. The name Blauets means blue; choir members wear blue cassocks.

La Calobra - Daytrip from Palma de Mallorca to Escorca, La Calobra & Soller - Christobel Travel

La Calobra

As you proceed to La Calobra, you will pass through the famous Tramuntana mountain range which will present you with spectacular views. The road is windy and spirals down the mountains as it leads you to La Calobra and it’s beaches. Once you arrive at La Calobra, you will be met with dramatic views of the water and surrounding cliffs. You will have time to take in the beauty of this area while eating in one of the nice restaurants overlooking the water. Torrent de Paréis gorge is one of the highlights in this area and can be reached by a small boat. People go to Torrent de Paréis for a swim as this is one of the hidden but well-known beaches in Majorca. Just be careful when venturing off as you don’t want to be left behind by your tour guide. Other places of interest in La Calobra are Castillo de Cabrera, Parque Nacional de Cabrera, and Platja Cabrera.

Puerto Soller (Port of Soller)

After a nice break at La Calobra, you will board a boat to Puerto Soller. As soon as you leave the harbor in La Calobra, keep your eyes to your right,  Torrent de Paréis gorge is located nearby, but can only be seen from a distance. The cliffs that line up in the sides of the waterways are stunning and come to life in pictures you take. As you arrive at Puerto Soller, make sure your camera is out and ready; the views of the lighthouse and houses on the cliffs, as well as boats parked at the port, are spectacular. The short boat ride ends here and when you disembark you are given time to walk around the streets at the port and enjoy the shops and restaurants. You are given enough time to have lunch.

Town of Soller & the Soller Wooden Train

From Puerto Soller, you are taken to the town of Soller for a short visit. Soller is a country town in western Majorca that has mansions made of stones. The main attraction in Soller is the St Bartomeu Church, sitting right at the center of the town square, Placa Constitucio. This is the main square in Soller that has cafes and small shops and located just down the hill from the Soller train station. From the town of Soller, you will embark the historical and popular Soller vintage wooden train. It has been in operation for over 100 years. The train goes through the valleys of Soller that present you with beautiful views all around. This is the last leg of the tour/excursion and as you proceed through the countryside of Palma, you will soon arrive back in Palma de Mallorca. When you reach the train stop in Palma, you will board a tour bus which will take you back to your hotel or various stops around resorts.
