Paridise—that’s the word that described El Secreto Belize Hotel in Ambergris Caye, Belize. I don’t know about you, but when I go on vacation, I want dramatic views that will take my breath away. I was impressed with the romantic and picture perfect views.

The Villas

El Secreto Belize has Sea Villas, Lake Villas, Tropical Villas, and Spa Villas.

Sea Villas are located just a few steps from the sea, right on the beach. Lake Villas are surrounded by a small beautiful lake. Tropical Villas are spacious and can accommodate up to four people; perfect for a family. Spa Villas are popular among couples on honeymoon or just those getting away for a romantic break.

We stayed in a Tropical Villa. The suite was very spacious and clean. In the evenings we sat in our private Jacuzzi outside the villa taking in the nature that surrounded us. We also loved sitting on the patio drinking coffee and relaxing. El Secreto Belize also offers promotional packages tailored to suit various needs.

The Swimming Pool

You will find El Secreto Belize’s swimming pool by the bar and restaurant.

Bar & Restaurant

The beachfront restaurant at El Secreto Belize has stunning views of the sea. The day we arrived, there was a family that came by boat from another resort just to have dinner at El Secreto Belize. After their dinner, the boat captain at El Secreto took them back to their hotel for free. It is my understanding that a reservation has to be made for this service. If you want something different when ordering food, try their plantain dish.

Location & Transportation

This boutique hotel is located 11 miles from San Pedro and can only be accessed by boat. When you make a booking, inform them of your arrival time in San Pedro and they will send a boat to meet you. The ride from San Pedro to El Secreto Belize Hotel  takes about 20 minutes.

My Experience at El Secreto Belize

When we arrived at the San Pedro Water Terminal, we found the boat captain sent by El Secreto Belize waiting for us. We were held up at the Customs Office because there were so many passengers to clear, but the boat captain waited patiently for us.

When we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed by Estelle, a lovely front desk lady who went out of her way just to make us comfortable and feel welcome. The staff at the hotel were very polite and spoke very good English, which made communication very easy.

El Secreto Belize Hotel will take you to San Pedro Town Center with their boat and leave you there for a while to see the town and/ or shop. The boat captain will tell you what time you have to be at the pickup location; he will take you back to the hotel. You will need to inform the front desk of your plans to go to town in advance; this is a complimentary service.
